We, SMG Co., Ltd., are manufacturing gears by using our own technology in major manufacturing processes.
Our best engineers are producing precision gears and gear assemblies by using high-tech automated systems.
We also work in cooperation with the best business partners who meet our strict standards for outsourcing and acceptance inspection.
Especially, we are operating a system specialized for small quantity batch production, maximizing productivity, and effectively shortening the time of production by multi-functionalizing our engineers.
We also have a system specialized to trace our manufacturing process in real time.
In the future, we will make constant efforts to satisfy our customers by achieving the shortest delivery time periods, the best quality, and the most competitive prices.
DesignWe are using gear-dedicated programs (two-dimensional, three-dimensional modeling program, strength program) to calculate precise data for gear production.
Lathe TurningWe are using a turning lathe and vertical lathe for cylindrical processing before processing round bars and forging materials.
Tooth CuttingTooth cutting is a process in which the internal and external tooth form is made by using hobbing m/c, gear shaper m/c, thread m/c, etc. after a lathe turning process.
Maching of MetalsMachining of metals is a process in which the hole, tab, and key of gears are machined by using a cnc machine center, broach m/c, etc.
Heat TreatmentHeat treatment is a process in which the hardness of gears is enhanced after machining of tooth form. The method of heat treatment varies according to the materials of the gear. Quenching & tempering, high-frequency heat treatment, carburizing, or nitriding heat treatment is used to increase the surface and core hardness of gears.
Grinding A grinding process is used to comply with major tolerances and surface roughness on the internal, external, and plane parts of gears.
Tooth GrindingTooth grinding is used to comply with the requirements of gear class, tooth modification, and lead crowning on the drawing. This process is performed to secure a reduction in noise, vibration, and heat generation on gears and make a DIN 1~4 class of gear.
Inspection After the final process, geometric tolerance is measured to meet the requirements on drawings by using a three-dimensional measuring machine. Also, MT (magnetic particle testing) is performed to detect microscopic cracks that may appear during the grinding process.
Packing Before delivery to customers, all products are sealed and packed to prevent damages and inhibit rust. When there is a request from customers, they are vacuum-packed.
